Domain Aliases
 
A domain alias is an extra domain name that points to a primary domain. For example the owner of the domain name  www.anyname.com can register another domain name such as www.anyname.net and have it point to the location of www.anyname.com. This means that every Internet user who goes to www.anyname.net will be automatically forwarded to www.anyname.com.

 
Sub-domains
 
If your domain name is www.anyname.com, you may also have a domain name like subdomain.anyname.com to act as the third level domain name. For example if you don’t want people to type in www.anyname.com/support, you can create a sub-domain such as support.anyname.com.
